Welcome to the sixth Chapelton of Elsick 10K .  The event is not a closed road race.  It is an undulating multi terrain race through the beautiful Elsick House estate, starting and finishing in the village of Chapelton near Newtonhill.  Please read our race notes thoroughly to ensure you have a safe and enjoyable race. The majority of the route is on tarmac with some farm tracks and a short grass section.  All standards of runners are very welcome!

This year there is a slight change to the start/finish which will now be located on Black Street (across from registration).

PLEASE NOTE - the race is predominantly ran on roads that remain open to traffic.  All runners are responsible for their own safety and must ensure that they remain aware of other road users at all times.  All runners must adhere to the instructions from marshals and other race officials during the race.

The course is unsuitable for wheelchairs.  Running with buggies or pets is not allowed.

Registration: Will take place from 09:00 - 10:30am at The Hut, Greenlaw Road, Chapelton.  All pre-entered runners must register on the day to collect their race number and memento.  There will be an option of a bag drop too.  

Chip Timing: This years race is chip timed, provided by **************.  

Race Briefing: There will be a race safety brief at 10:55am.

Start Time: The race will start prompt from near The Hut at 11am.

Race Finish: The race will finish near The Hut. 

Water Station: This will be just after the 5k point.

First Aid: There will be First Aid at both the Start/Finish area and at the Water Station.

Headphones: We cannot permit the use of in-ear headphones, as part of the route is on a single carriageway road that is NOT closed to traffic. Bone conducting headphones and medically prescribed earphones are permitted, the use of all other in-ear headphones will lead to disqualification.

Refreshments: Available at Burgess Park (behind the boxes) after the race for all runners.  The Boxes @ Chapelton offer a variety of food and drinks.

Toilets: Available close to start/finish area.  There will be no showers.

Prize Giving: Will take place from 12:30pm at Burgess Park (behind the boxes).

Prize Categories: Trophies (and £50 £40 £30 respectively) for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Male and Female finishers. Trophies (and cash prize) for 1st Male and Female under 18 and 1st, 2nd and 3rd Male and Female over 40, over 50 & over 60. The Chapelton Residents Shield will be awarded to the first Male and Female Chapelton Resident to finish. All finishers will receive a unique medal and memento. 

Spot Prizes: Please retain your race number to be in with a chance to win a spot prize.  This will take place after the prize giving.

Entry: £24. This is online entry only at Entry Central, and entries will close on the 20th June 2025.

Entry Transfer: If you can no longer take part in the event, we are allowing transfers which must be carried out via your own Entry Central account by our deadline of 20th June 2025.  If you are having difficulties please contact Ann Gallon.  

Kids Fun Runs:  At 10am there will be a 100m toddler dash for under 5s, and a 1km race for primary school children, organised by Friends of Newtonhill (FON).  Every child will receive a bespoke medal.  Registration can be done on the day at Burgess Park where the races will take place (behind the boxes). General Information: There is plenty parking available in and around Chapelton village and will be clearly sign-posted.  

Please follow all instructions from the marshals as they are there to ensure your safety.

Online entries will close at midnight on 20th June 2025.  EntryCentral will show the race as 'Closed' after this time. Entries will not be accepted on race day.
