Floors Castle Trail Race

Join us for the inaugural Floors Castle Trail Race on September 29th 2024.

Prepare to push your limits through ancient woodlands, and panoramic vistas, all set against the majestic backdrop of Floors Castle, in the Scottish Borders, the largest inhabited castle in Scotland.

Choose between the 10km and 5km distances on this undulating but fast course on hard packed gravel trails which culminates in a welcoming and lively atmosphere at the finish line fit for a King or Queen.

​And for the young trailblazers, don't miss out on the Junior 3km race, where budding athletes can unleash their spirit of adventure and discover the joy of trail running in a safe and supportive environment. Duathlon

Fancy dipping your toe into the world of multisport? Got friends or family who enjoy cycling as well as running? The trail races are taking place alongside the Floors Castle Duathlon on the same day.

10km Trail Race

The 10km race takes place over 2 laps of the 5km course, exploring the best of the Floors Castle estate. The lapped course provides a great challenge along with being a very spectator friendly event allowing your supporters to cheer you on at multiple points.

Suitable for competitors age 17 and above.

5km Trail Race

Taking place over 1 lap of the 5km course, you can experience all the best parts of these stunning grounds while allowing yourself to push hard knowing the finish line is never far out of reach.

Suitable for competitors age 15 and above.

Junior 3km Trail Race

A shortened 3km loop circumnavigates the castle, starting with a fast, flowing descent followed by a short, but challenging climb in the second half culminating in a final sprint to a finish line that won't be forgotten in a hurry. Perfect for first-timers and future stars.

Suitable for competitors age 9 to 14.

Your age group is determine by your age on 1st September 2024.

Scottish Athletics Membership

The event will be permitted by Scottish Athletics which guarantees a high quality event with all the necessary insurance in place. Scottish Athletics members will receive a £2 discount off their entry fee. Please ensure you have added your Scottish Athletics Membership number to your Entry Central profile and your membership is valid on the day of the race.

T-Shirts and Medals

We are conscious of the environmental impact of our event and want to be part of the solution and not the problem. We also recognise that you might want to celebrate your achievement. For that reason we are only providing Race T-Shirts and Finisher’s Medals to those who would like them.

Event T-Shirt

You can purchase a race T-shirt as part of your entry and this will be available for collection at registration.

Finisher’s Medal

If you would like a wooden medal as a memento of your achievement, please select this option on your entry form. If you would prefer not to receive a medal we will donate the cost of your medal to charity instead.

You must enter on or before 31st July 2024 if you wish to be guaranteed to receive a Finisher's Medal or be able to purchase a Race T-Shirt.
