6pm staggered race start.
Car-parking: There are lots of places to park in Chelmsford, with the nearest being the pay and display being right outside.
Public transport: The train station in Chelmsford has good main line links to the Eastern region and London Liverpool Street and Stratford stations. The venue is a 5 minute walk from the station. The central bus depot is next also similarly located.
Registration and race briefing: Registration is open from 17.00 to 17.40 in the venue. Race briefing starts at 17.45 at the same location.
Swim: No diving is allowed at anytime. You will be disqualified (DQd) if you do. Goggles are recommended. Bring your own swim cap if you want to wear one. The swim is over 400 meters and each competitor will swim two lengths in each of the six lanes. After swimming down the first length from the near side of the pool’s shallow end, next to the wall, swim back up by the lane rope (clockwise). At the end of this length, go under the lane rope into the next lane and repeat. Continue this until you reach the steps at the shallow end of the farside of the pool. Exit via the fire exit, turn right and down the ramp and into Transition (T1). Put on your trainers before heading out in the run. Caution, the poolside will be slippery when wet.
Swimmers with the slowest estimated swim times going first. There is a gap of 20 seconds between each competitor. If you catch up with the swimmer in front, please let them know by touching their feet to let them know that you are there. The person in front should then allow you to overtake once you get to the end of the length.
Put your race number on your front so we can record you time and so that you comply with the rules before setting out on the run course.
Run: http://www.mapmyrun.com/run/united-kingdom/chelmsford/905125733936692073
The run route is 1 lap. ALL MAJOR TURNS WILL BE MARKED WITH ARROWS. Take care on the start of the run as pedestrians / cylists maybe in the way. Join the footpath and follow it along, keeping out of the cycle lane. Cross the service road when safe to do so. A marshal will be present here. Stay in the pedestrian areas it until you come to the bridge marked with another arrow. Cross in and continue right on the footpath until you reach main road . Turn left, go ahead and then go down and through the under pass. Turn right at the junction of MILL VIEW ROAD. This is the only road section, so take be aware of cars passing. At the end of the road follow the footpath signs, turning right onto the riverbank. Cross the narrow bridge over the River. Stay on the footpath following the direction arrows. Caution when going over the stiles. At the end of the track, turn left and rejoin the footpath you run on earlier. Retrace your route back to the transition area where the finish line is located. The footpath is narrow and the public will be using it as well, so stay polite and pass by with care.
Finish: Congratulations, you made it! Stretch, cool down and chill.

Spectators are reminded to stay out the way of participants and marshals, especially at access / egress points. Do not go into transition or close to the waters edge please.
