Avon Valley Runners are super excited to bring you the AVON VALLEY RELAY 2024! We are really looking forward to hosting this event after a break in 2023 and we really hope to see as many of you as possible. Please see below for more details....

Fancy a fun team challenge running through the beautiful Wiltshire landscape? Or perhaps a solo mission conquering a 17 mile (27km) run? Come and run in The Avon Valley Relay!

The Avon Valley Relay is an 17 mile (27km) ‘pass the baton’ relay over four self-navigated stages along the roads and towpaths between Winsley and Trowbridge via Melksham through the beautiful Avon Valley. The event is also open to solo runners who wish to run all four stages of the relay. The relay is supported by friendly and enthusiastic volunteers, has a brilliant "buzz" atmosphere and is a great day out for spectators and runners. 

Start: Bradford on Avon Rugby Football Club, 1pm

Finish: Trowbridge Rugby Football Club in Hilperton.

Runners representing your team on the first stage of the relay should register your team no later than 12:30pm. Solo runners will also need to register no later than 12:30pm.

The relay will be held under an ARC permit.

Entry Fees: £24 per team or £30 on the day. 

AVR teams and Solo Runners go free - please contact Felix for a discount code to use (PLEASE NOTE - In order to use this discount all members of the team MUST be fully paid up members).

Trophies/prizes will be awarded to 1st Male Team, 1st Female Team, 1st Junior Team*, 1st Open Team**, 1st Mixed Team (two males and two females) and 1st Solo Runner***.

Additionally, after its popularity in previous years, prizes will be awarded for the best team name and the best team photo! So, get thinking and be creative!

Members of a Male Team and a Female Team must all be aged 18 or over on race day.
Members of Open Teams and Mixed Teams must be aged 13 or over on race day.
*Juniors aged 13 or over are more than welcome for this event but any runners running Leg 3 must be aged 15 or over.
All members of a junior team must be below the age of 18 on race day.
**A team made up of male and female runners but with no restrictions over how many male or female members the team must have.
***Solo runners must be aged 18 or over on race day.
