Organiser's Description
Your Aim: Swim 1 mile (53 lengths), or 30 minutes, every hour for 12, 6 or 3 hours.
The ultimate endurance swim event.
The first event of our endurance swim series. Build yourself up to a 24 hour swim in Spring 2025 by having a taster this Autumn.
Saturday 28th September 2024
12 hour swim start: 8:00am
6 hour swim start: 11:30am
3 hours swim start: 8:30am and 5:30pm
12-hour Endurance Swim
Starting at 8:00am, swim for 30 minutes each hour for 12 hours.
With a 30 minute break between swims, this makes for a true test of endurance.
4 lane speeds (like our normal lane swim set-up), so pro or have a go, you can swim your own speed.
- You can eat, drink, visit the loo, sleep, talk with friends or even rest during rest periods but strictly no alcohol.
- You may wear any swim suit or wetsuit. You may not be naked
- Swim hats and ear plugs are optional but fins, hand paddles, snorkels, pull buoys and propulsive devices of any kind are not permitted
- You may swim any stroke or combination of strokes.
- Swimmers must be fully respectful of each other, encouraging to all in and out of the water
- Neither glass or barbeques are permitted at the Lido.
- The use of gas stoves or kettles is permitted, but must be outside of any tent or structure and away from fences, shrubbery and poolside.
- A limited number of small shelter tents are permitted. Gazebos and large tents are not permitted.
- Children must be supervised by parents at all times and kept away from the water.
- All swimmers take part knowing that they take full responsibility for their actions, have satisfied themselves of their fitness, have taken all reasonable steps to prepare for the challenge and understand that neither the organisers nor anyone connected with the event, accept responsibility for swimmer health and well-being, before, during or after the event. The organisers will however, take all reasonable risk factors into account in order to maintain a well-run and safe environment for you to undertake the event.
- Numbers in the challenge are strictly limited. The organisers maintain the right to limit places and refuse entry for safety and organisational reasons.

6-hour Endurance Swim
