Come along on Saturday 26th April for a competitive run or a scenic accessible walk, taking in the beauty of the countryside and loch around the Haining in Selkirk (TD7 5LR). The Challenge will celebrate the life of the late Charmian Ledsham and Interest Link’s great work with people with learning disabilities.

Event details:

·         Entry is £10 per runner or £6 per walker, bookable through EntryCentral (deadline 24th April).

·         Parking is limited and you may want to park in the free West Port Car Park just off the main Selkirk Square, from where there is a path to The Haining (c6 min walk).

·         Refreshments and accessible toilets will be available, and we can refill  water bottles.  

·         The 5k Trail Run will start at 9.30 and the 2k/4k walk at 10:30 am. Registration will open at 08:45 am for both events so please allow yourself enough time to check in and socialise before the starting flag drops. The event will finish around 12.30.

·         The routes will be signposted and marshalled with the 5k trail run being on rough paths and the 2k/4k walk circling the loch. All participants will receive a biscuit medal.

·         On the fundraising side, there will be a tombola with a variety of amazing prizes, and Interest Link T-shirts, hats and other items for sale. Donations can also be made here.

Interest Link Borders has proudly named this annual event in memory of Charmian Ledsham to acknowledge her dedication, support and hard work over the years. Charmian was a director of Interest Link Borders from its start in 2000 until 2020, and was Vice-Convenor much of that time. Her professional care experience was a great asset, and her insight, advice and wit were a vital part of Interest Link’s development. She was a keen runner and committed to the values at the heart of Interest Link: this a perfect event to celebrate her life and her support of Interest Link’s work providing fun, friendship and opportunities for people with learning disabilities.
