Chris Smith Daviot Dash 5K and Kids' Fun Run

SUNDAY, 18 AUGUST 2024 

Welcome to the Chris Smith Daviot Dash 5K and Kids' Fun Run.

Chris Smith, raised in Daviot, represented Team GB in mountain running championships.

In his memory, his friends, working alongside Daviot Community Trust, have created a Memorial in the grounds of Daviot Estate as a place that local families and future generations can enjoy. 

The event is being held on Daviot Community Trust land and the neighbouring Daviot House Estate in the village of Daviot, near Inverurie, Aberdeenshire. 

The Chris Smith Daviot Dash 5K and Kids' Fun Run is organised by Inverurie's Garioch Road Runners.

Entries can be made online through Entry Central or on the day.

Online entries will close at midnight 13 August 2024. EntryCentral will show the race as 'Closed' after this time, but limited entries will still be available on the day.

Online Race Briefing

There will be a live race briefing for all our runners a few days before the event on the Chris Smith Daviot Dash 5K and Kids' Fun Run Facebook page. The briefing will also be recorded and made available to view later. The date and time of the live briefing will be confirmed closer to race day.

Registration and Number Pick Up

Registration will be open from 10.30am to 11.45am on the day of the run at the Daviot Village Hall.

As parking is limited at the hall, we request that runners move their cars to the race car park after collecting their race numbers.

Runners are advised that any items left in the hall during the run are left at the runners' own risk. 

Car Parking

Car parking will be at Kirkdale Nursery, near the Daviot Village Hall and the start line. Many thanks to Kirkdale Nursery for supporting our event.

Start Times

The Kids' Fun Run will start promptly at 11.20am.

The Chris Smith Daviot Dash 5K will start promptly at 12.00noon. 

Routes

The Kids' Fun Run follows an approximately 2km route through the estate.

The Chris Smith Daviot Dash 5K takes in two laps of a scenic, undulating route on a mixture of grass, gravel paths and tarmac roads.

Kids' Run: £5

Chris Smith Daviot Dash 5K: £10

Age Limits

Kids' Run: 5-10 (adults may run with younger children)

Chris Smith Daviot Dash 5K: 11+

Toilets and Changing

No changing facilities or showers are available, so please turn up ready to run. Toilets will be available in the Daviot Village Hall.

Refreshments

A limited selection of refreshments will be available at the finish line.

Prizes and presentations after the last finishers cross the line.

We regret that no buggies or dogs are allowed in either event.
