RACE INFORMATION
The route follows the old Deeside Railway Line out to Banchory and back.
The course will be well marked but it is the runners responsibility to ensure they know the route.
To reduce our waste, this race is cupless, meaning that whilst we will provide water at the designated water stations, we will not be giving out plastic cups. Our marshals will be happy to fill your own bottles or cups with water during the race.
There will be Water Stations/Drop Bags as follows:
Water Station/ Drop bag - approx 8 miles ( 1/4 point )
Water Station / Drop Bag - approx 16.5 miles ( halfway )
Water Station/Drop bag - approx 25 miles ( same station as 8 miles - 3/4 point )
Drop bags should be no bigger than a large freezer zip bag and be clearly marked with your race number.
CUT OFF
To ensure the safety of the Race Team and runners we have introduced 2 cut off points.
The first cut off will be 1230hrs at the 1/2 way checkpoint ( approx 16.5 miles )
The second cut off will be at 1430hrs at the 3/4 way checkpoint ( approx 25 miles )
To assist runners we will have a sweeper leave the 1/2 way checkpoint at 1230hrs , running at a pace to enusre you reach the final cut off point on time.
If you fail to reach the cut offs on time, an X will be placed through your race number, you will automatically be marked as a DNF and asked to stop( you will have to make your own way back from there). Should you decide to continue( we cannot force you to stop ) , you do so at your own risk, CGM Ultra Racing takes no responsibility should anything occur on the course thereafter and the Race Team will leave once the sweeper reaches the finish. However, for everyone's consideration, we respectfully ask you not to continue if you have failed to meet the cut off.
NO SUPPORT RUNNERS ARE PERMITTED but if you want to meet someone at any point with food/drink then that is ok with us.
WITHDRAWALS
If at any point during the race, you need to withdraw (DNF_) , please contact one of the Race Organisers or the nearest marshal.
You will be responsible for findng your own transport back to the Finish.
KIT
Because it is Scotland and because the race is in March the weather can be very changeable, due to this there will be a minimum kit requirement of hat, gloves, full waterproofs (jacket and trousers) and a foil blanket. No kit = no race, no exceptions. You don't want to be sitting at the side of the course in your simmit and short shorts in the oorlich getting drookit and crabbit.
If you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact the organisers.
