The Fife Athletic Club Festival of Trail Running welcomes all standards of athletes from beginners to Scottish Internationalists. The races are open to all and will take place in the beautiful Falkland Estate in Fife. For members of Scottish Athletics the events incorporate the Scottish Mid–Trail Championships and for all competitors there is an extensive prize list. This is your chance to meet and run with the champions.
Declarations, Presentations, Refreshments and Parking
- Declarations will take place at the Falkland Community Hall, Back Wynd, Falkland,KY15 7BX where parking is available. Due to parking restrictions please do not take cars into the Estate.
- Presentations for all races will take place at the race finish area in the Estate.

The Race Age Groups
The Festival consists of 5 races mixed gender but separate races. The U11 and U13 races are non championship taster events. The Scottish Championships are held within the U15, U17 and Open races. The Open race consists of U20s, Seniors and Masters (@10 year age groups O40 to O80+).
In all events the age is determined by the day of the race 4th September 2022
- Under 11: aged 9 or 10 on 4th September 2022
- Under 13: aged 11 or 12 on 4th September 2022
- Under 15: aged 13 or 14 on 4th September 2022
- Under 17: aged 15 or 16 on 4th September 2022
- Under 20: aged 17, 18 or 19 on 4th September 2022
- Senior: aged 20 to 39 on 4th September 2022

The SAL Championships & Medals
- 1st 3 individuals both male and female for U15, U17, Open (U20, Senior, O40 and 10 year bands)
- 1st 3 teams both male and female in U15 race, U17 races (3 to count) and the Open race (4 to count)
- All eligible athletes in the Open race may count in the Open championship race as well as their own age category
The Open Prize List

Entry Transfer Policy
All entries are non-refundable. However, we are pleased to offer a free transfer service as long as there is no evidence of selling the entry on at an increased fee. With permission of the Entry Organiser (see below) you can transfer your place to a friend/relative/teammate etc, but you must handle any reimbursement of funds directly with that person. Up to the event closing date the Entry Organiser will swap the entry details.

Medical Advice
You should have a sufficient standard of fitness to compete and have no known medical condition that would adversely affect your ability to run or cause the race organiser concern. You are reminded not to run if you feel ill or have a cold or flu on race day as this could be potentially dangerous to your health. Do not take part if you have any respiratory illness or any recent medical condition that impacts on your ability to safely carry out strenuous exercise.
Please note terms and conditions of entry:
- To enter the race, a runner must be:
- Eligible to compete under SAL rules and willing to abide by those rules.
- Physically fit to run the race distance.
- Entries for runners under the age of 18 must be made by a parent or legal guardian.
- All runners participate entirely at their own risk. The race organisers (Fife AC) and their associates shall not be liable for any accident, injury, loss or damage arising as a consequence of any runner’s participation in the race.
- Submitting an entry to the race authorises Fife AC to use for promotional purposes pictures of the runner taking part in the Festival races or prize-giving.
- Normally no refunds will be made except in the event of the organisers deciding to cancel the race.
