HELPING TO SUPPORT THE GATESIDE MEMORIAL HALL

The popular Gateside Gallop race returns for 2024. This is a multi-terrain road and
trail race, in the shadow of West Lomond, NE Fife. A little over four miles long, it’s a
great distance suitable for all abilities. By entering, you will be helping to support the
Gateside Memorial Hall. The Hall is a very important self-financing village hub
involved in organising many community events. Your help is very much appreciated.

The Route
It has a testing start, all the way up the hill on Station Road. Turning right at the top,
onto Dryside road. Along Dryside road past the wind turbine and the Glenvale
carpark, until reaching a large green tank on your right.
PLEASE TAKE CARE – THE ABOVE ROADS WILL BE CLOSED TO TRAFFIC, WITH
EXCEPTION OF EMERGENCY VEHICLES
Turning right onto a fast downhill woodland track. Beyond the first metal core path
gate, the route then skirts a large field, until reaching a second gate. Through the
gate, back onto a woodland track, all the way down to a third gate. Turning right, the
route then runs alongside the scenic River Eden, until reaching a large open field.
The diagonal track running through the field, brings you back to the road that the
race started on. Turning left, over the entrance to Bower Park, you will then be
guided to the playing field entrance. Once around the perimeter, then across the
finish line.

RACE HQ - Gateside Memorial Hall (Main Road, Gateside, KY14 7SZ).
