Race Details
Please note that as the race takes place on public roads, the use of HEADPHONES DURING THE RACE IS NOT PERMITTED (bone conducting headphones are permitted this year.) Runners ignoring this rule will risk disqualification. There is a 3 hour time limit for this half marathon, please only enter if you expect to complete the run within 3 hours.
The START: Directions will be posted to the start area and all participants should be at this point no later than 11:55am. Please line up as per your estimated finishing time.
Changing Accommodation: Changing facilities are limited so we request that where possible you arrive at the start already changed. The organisers will accept no liability for loss of, or damage to, competitors’ property. There are no shower facilities apart from whatever the weather throws at us on the day.
Car Parking: Due to the location of the event, limited car parking facilities and environmental impact - we recommend car sharing. Upon arrival at the hotel please follow the directions of the car park marshals. Cars will be directed to the hotel car park and 4x4s will be directed to the field in front of the hotel.
Route & Water Station: The route is accurately measured with mile markers and follows an anticlockwise loop of the glen. Marshals will be at junctions, so please obey their instructions. Please run on the left hand side of the road. Three refreshment stations will be provided at regular intervals.
First Aid: First Aid help will be provided on route should you need it. If you are unable to finish, try to walk to a refreshment station or wait for our sweep vehicle, which will transport you back safely.
The Finish: The finish is at the entry to the hotel car park. Please ensure your number is clearly visible and follow the marshals' instructions at the finish. This will help race officials to record the correct order and times.
Refreshments: Soup, tea and coffee will be provided for runners at the Clova Hotel. We have been advised by the Hotel management that non resident runners/friends/family looking to eat in the restaurant MUST PRE BOOK no later than the night before the race or they may not be able to accommodate.
Results: We will endeavour to publish results at www.forfarroadrunners.co.uk and perfecttimingscotland.co.uk within 48 hours.
Prizes: We aim to start the presentation in the lounge area at 2:30pm or within 5 minutes of the last competitor finishing. Prizes will be awarded to the following categories; M, F, MV, FV, MSV, FSV, and the following male and female 60+, 70+, Team prizes (3 per club) and DD8 categories. If runners do not attend the prizegiving (or have a representative attend) they will forfeit their prize as we can not post out prizes.
