Organiser's Description
Kinross Road Runners invite you to enter the 40th edition of the
Webster Loch Leven Half Marathon
to be held on Sunday 11th May 2025
The Webster Loch Leven Half Marathon is organised by Kinross Road Runners whose aim is to ensure that it continues to be one of the best half marathons in Scotland. The route is a gently undulating circumnavigation of the scenic shores of Loch Leven. The event is open to runners aged 17 or over on the day.
The event is held on closed roads.
The race is run under UK Athletics Rules and is a Scottish Athletics permit event.
The Loch Leven Half Marathon will also be the East District Half Marathon Championship race in 2025.

There is a limit of 900 runners for this event. The race is expected to sell out quickly as in previous years.

Registration
Race numbers will be posted out to participants in advance of the event. Race Numbers are not exchangeable and no-one will be allowed to run without one. If you are unable to compete for any reason then regretfully no refunds or deferrals can be made.
Start
The race starts at 9:00 am. The start will take place on Clashburn Road, at the south of the town. This is approximately 1.2 miles from the event centre, so please leave plenty of time to arrive for the race start.
There will be a time limit of 3 hours for the race (approx 13 minutes 45 seconds per mile). Any runner who expects to take longer than this, does so at their own risk, as any organised road closures will no longer be in place.
Health and Safety
Clear route maps will be posted at the event centre. The route is well signposted. It is on public roads, therefore, UKA Rule 240 S5 Forbids the wearing of headphones or similar devices, for this reason we ask runners to not wear headphones unless they are bone conductors or medically prescribed. Those ignoring this rule or any other will be disqualified and removed from the results.
A Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (TTRO) will be applied for as the race will be run on a number of closed roads managed by Traffic Management specialists and volunteer marshals.
The organisers are being assisted by Tayside Police, Fife Raynet, and a number of voluntary marshals. The safety of all (volunteers, runners and members of the public) is paramount and it is a condition of entry that competitors must follow the rules and instructions of the Police and the marshals. Failure to follow instructions will lead to disqualification. The marshals will be on the course for an arranged time to oversee all capabilities of runners, however, we expect all runners to have completed the course within 3 hours. Beyond this time we cannot guarantee marshals will be supervising the course.
All runners must enter emergency contact details on the back of their bib number.
Prizes
There are prizes in all runner categories as well as a team prize for ladies and men.
Full results will be available on our Website and on Facebook as soon as possible.
There will be a prize of £250 awarded to anyone breaking the Male or Female Course Record.
Facilities
There are toilets and changing facilities at the event centre. There are also toilets at the start area. Car parking is limited so please car share where possible. Further information on parking will be provided nearer the time in the race pack that will be emailed out to you a few days before the race.
There are four water stations on the route. There will be bottled water available at the finish. We actively encourage runners to carry their own water in addition to this.
There will be facilities available at the event centre, along with changing rooms, toilets, and a bag store.
Charity
In 2024 runners of the Loch Leven Half Marathon donated £1035 to TRACKS (The Rural Access Committee for Kinross-shire) to improve local pathways in the area.
We greatly appreciate the support of the local community, volunteers and runners who make this event possible.
In 2025 runners will be given the opportunity upon entry to make a voluntary donation to TRACKS (The Rural Access Committee for Kinross-shire - Scottish Charity Registration Number: SC030183) to improve local pathways in the area, including the trail around Loch Leven which is loved by runners near and far.
