Suckley Quarter Marathon

We are back for our 2nd event after a successful sell out 1st year.

The Suckley Quarter Marathon is just that, a quarter of a marathon, 6.5 miles or 10.55km on a multi terrain course. Following some of the less well known trails, roads, tracks and footpaths through the picturesque village of Suckley through Longley Green. You will be treated to some spectacular views of the surrounding area.

It’s a family friendly running event.

Adults race and kids fun run.

Clearly signposted with a fully marshalled route. 

VENUE:

The Hop Shed Brewery & Tap Room, The Old Chicken Shed, Suckley, WR6 5EQ.

You will be able to buy a post or pre (if you’re brave enough) race beer and food will be available to purchase afterwards. 

All profits will be going to local charities within the community

ADULT RACE: 

We welcome runners of all abilities to our Suckley Quarter Marathon, there are no time cut-offs. 

16 years upwards.

ROUTE:

50/50 road to trails - best of both worlds 

The roads are not closed so you will be instructed to keep left while running through the village and all road sections are fully marshalled at key points.

Water station at halfway point 

Adult Entry includes: Chip timing, A Fantastic Finishers medal, water and a piece of cake.

PRIZES:

Trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Male and Female.

Also 1st local Male and Female. (Within Suckley Parish boundaries)

As this is a fundraising event there will be no age category prizes.

EVENT SCHEDULE:

Kids fun run starts 10am 

Kids race registration 9:15am- 9:45am 

Adult Race starts 11am

Adults Race registration 9:30am -10:45am

Full online/digital race briefing will be published in the week proceeding, it is your responsibility to make sure you have read and understood it. 

Prize giving in the Hop Shed bar at 12:30pm 

SQM KIDS FUN RUN:

Is held in enclosed fields, the terrain is undulating trails (a few hills)

Distance 2km

Please make sure your children have suitable footwear and clothes

The fun run is suitable for children aged 4 to 16

They will be set off in two waves, over 8’s followed by under 8’s a few seconds later.

You are welcome to accompany your child of any age (you just have to keep up with them!) but we strongly suggest all under 8’s run with an adult.

Please make sure your child is capable of running 2km

Handmade medal and sweets for all children entered.

Please be respectful and considerate to all competitors, race officials, volunteers and members of the general public.

We rely on the goodwill of the local community to put on these events so please help us by sticking to the rules.

Under NO circumstances whatsoever should you run with another person's bib number.

PHOTOGRAPHY:

Photographs may be taken on the day If you do not wish your image to appear as a significant part of any photograph that SQM publishes on the internet, socials or use for press, you should put a large thick red cross across your race number. If you are under 18, please ensure that your parent/carer is aware that you are entering this race. Please also ensure that both they and you are happy for photos of you taken at the race to be published on the web. If you or your parent/carer do not wish photos of you to be published on the web, please add a large thick red cross to your race number. Red markers will be provided at the Race HQ for this purpose.

DATA PROTECTION:

The information provided by entrants will be used solely for the purpose of the race. The information will only be available to members of the results team and appropriate race officials and will not be passed to any other person or agency.

REFUND POLICY:

As this is a fundraising event no refunds will be given, you can withdraw if you can no longer make it and your place can be resold thus raising more money for charity.
