Organiser's Description
Congratulations! You are signing up to join Ayrshire's favourite, best, and most brilliant cycling club - Ayr Roads Cycling Club.
Upon signing up to the club membership you will be expected to adhear to Scottish Cyclings code of conduct as per the documentation here - Ayrshire Cycling (ayrroadscc.co.uk)
Signing up to the club will be taken as an acceptance of these terms and conditions.
Ayr Roads Cycling Club was founded in 1930 and is the leading cycling club in South Ayrshire and one of the most active clubs in the West of Scotland. The club is affiliated with Scottish Cycling, the Ayrshire and Dumfriesshire Cycling Association and Cycling Time Trials (CTT).
Our membership includes regional, national and international medal winners in all disciplines of cycle sport. It also includes many others who enjoy social runs and the community offered by the club. The club is active in road racing, time trials and track. Members also compete in off-road events.
We have a successful club league hosting events across a number of disciplines including hill climbs and timetrials, as well as a Club Confined 10 mile time trial league.
We welcome your contribution to the club, and your hard earned pennies. (£25 for senior - £5 for under 18s and students) As a club member please take the time to familiarise yourself with our constitution. It's not the most exciting document ever, but it may come in handy! Please visit our web-site for details.
Please note that before you sign up for the first time, we strongly recommend that you come along and meet us. The best time and place for doing this would be at 09:30 for the Sunday Club run (normally Beresford Terrace outside Cafe 51, however we have been meeting in Burns cottage car park during COVID to facilitate social distancing) Failing that please use the 'Contact Us' button on our web-site - here.
Insurance cover for cyclists is becoming more and more important these days. We encourage members to take out insurance by joining Scottish Cycling (via British Cycling) and/or the CTC. Both these organisations provide excellent insurance cover as well as other benefits - for example, a race licence through BC will provide discounted entries and eligibility for Scottish Championship events.
