This race is organised by Irvine Running Club and again sponsored by several local companies: Brodie Engineering, Pipeline Drillers, and Vanilla Joe’s. A huge thankyou to them!
Entries
Entries close on 14th August 2024 with a limit of 400 competitors. Please enter asap to avoid disappointment and note that the race limit was reached last year. The event is pre-entry only with no entries on the day of the race. This is an Scottish Athletics licensed event conducted under UKA Rules (licence 13637) with an official measurement certificate. There will be no refunds. For many reasons, but vitally for medical and other emergencies, we cannot allow individuals to participate under someone else’s number. If you want to transfer your place to someone else you must notify the organiser with your details and the full details of the person to whom you want to give your place (name, date of birth, gender, club, emergency details etc) You should sort out the finances between yourselves. There will be no transfers after 7/08/24.
All competitors must be at least 15 years old on race day.
Registration
Chip-pin timing by ‘What’s My Time’ will be used. You should pick up your bib number and timing chip from the Linthouse, Scottish Maritime Museum, Harbour Road, Irvine KA12 8BT, between 5.30pm and 6.30pm. Please arrive in plenty of time to collect your number and chip, and to walk about 5 mins to the start of the race. Remember to bring a note of your bib number, or have it on your phone. You must pick up your own number and chip.
Getting to the race
There is free car parking available at the carpark adjacent to the Scottish Maritime Museum. Additional car parking is at the Beach Park carpark. Irvine Railway Station is about 5 mins walk from registration, with trains to Glasgow/Ayr.
The Race
The race is held on paths and roads, in the Beachpark/Harbour area of Irvine starting at Vanilla Joe's and finishing on the harbourside. The course is relatively flat and suitable for runners of all abilities. The only headphones permitted are of the bone-conduction type. Any runner ignoring this risks disqualification.
After the Race
Each runner will get a race memento on completion of the race and a free ice cream from Vanilla Joe's - just show your bib number. Refreshments will be served after the race in the Maritime Museum. The prize-giving is at 8.15pm in the Maritime Museum.
Toilets
Toilets are available at the Maritime Museum, the Harbour Arts Centre, at ASDA, and at the Pilot House at the Beach Park.

Age Groups: Male, female and non-binary: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 1st at least 40, 1st at least 50, 1st at least 60, 1st at least 70 Team prizes: 1st men's team (4 to count), 1st non-binary team (4 to count), 1st women's team (3 to count)
