There will be no refunds given once you enter, so please don’t take a place if you’re unsure about running on the day. If the race is unable to go ahead due to unforeseen circumstances or adverse course conditions, which would impact on the safety of competitors, we will post notice of this on the Dumfries Harriers website and Facebook page, the day before.

Please Note: Runners are respectfully requested not to wear headphones during the race.

 Registration

Registration will be open at the registration tent situated at the Dockfoot end of Dock Park, from 8.30am on race day.

Here you can collect your race number and timing chip, use the toilet facilities, get changed, and leave your bag (at your own risk). Registration will close at 10.15am sharp.

The Dock Park has a car park, however please car share where possible. Overspill parking is available in front of Sands Snooker and Brooms Road.

Race start

The start line will be at Dockfoot, clearly marked on race day with our Start/Finish gantry and timing equipment.

A pre-race briefing will take place at 10.25am to which all competitors must attend.

The race starts at 10.30am.

Racecourse

The route is run on the footpath or pavement, except in Kingholm Quay where it is on the public road.

To ensure the safety of competitors, the route will be marshalled at key points throughout, and we’ll be operating a lead bicycle and a last runner sweeper. Please follow any instructions marshals give.

Please note also that this race is run on open roads and paths, please be aware of other users, especially those with dogs, and always remain courteous.

Race finish

The finish line will be at the bottom of Dock Park, where you started. Please ensure you keep the finish line area clear, so timing marshals have a clear line of sight to those coming in.

On finishing, all competitors will receive a medal, water and goody bag. If you've injured yourself in any way, professional first aid will be on hand.

Post-race

Prize giving will commence once the last runner crosses the finish line. If you think you have won a prize and need to leave, please see the Race Director before you go.

Full results will be posted up in on the club website and Facebook page later in the day.

Dumfries Harriers look forward to receiving your entry and seeing you on the day.

Junior Parkrun

Also taking place on the same day in the Dock Park, starting at 9.30am, will be the Dumfries Junior Parkrun for 4 to 14-year olds. The event is FREE, and participants can register at www.parkrun.org.uk/register

This year Doonhamer 10k is teaming up with ShoeShare Malawi and we will be collecting used and unwanted trainers on the day. So whilst you enjoy the race, you can relax in the knowledge that your unwanted trainers are getting a second lease of life.
Imagine turning up for your race and having to run in bare feet, that is the reality for athletes in one of Africa’s poorest countries. You can share your love of sport by donating used trainers on the day. As well as helping other athletes you’ll be reducing landfill and clearing out your cupboards.
