NEW CUMNOCK SUPERSPRINT & CHILDREN'S AQUATHLON (Event Director Andy Clapperton)

SUNDAY 25th AUGUST 2024

Both events will be chip timed. All competitors will receive their overall times and splits.

In conjunction with the King's Foundation Charity, New Cumnock Outdoor Pool are hosting a Children's Aquathlon followed by an Adult Supersprint Triathlon.

CHILDREN'S AQUATHLON - REGISTRATION OPENS AT 12:30 hrs, Race Starts at 13:30 hrs
This event will be chip timed. Age groups will be 8 (50m), 9-10 (50m), 11-12 (50m), 13-14 (100m) and 15-16 (100m) of the 25 metre Pool.
This will be followed by a flat course 2k run (500m for 8yr olds, 750m for 9-10 yrs) around the village, returning to the Pool for finish. NO ESTIMATED SWIM TIMES REQUIRED. Please note that as per Triathlon Scotland rules, your age group will be dependent on your age as of 31st December this year. For example, if you are 12 on the date of event and your birthday falls any day between date of event and 31st December, then you will be deemed to qualify for the 13-15 years age group.

ENTRY
Entry will be via the EntryCentral website and a waiting list will commence once the race is full. Withdrawals will be replaced from those on the waiting list until 7 days before the event, thereafter there will be no movement, as this allows the swim heats to be drawn up. There will be no entry on the day so please do not turn up unless you have a confirmed space.  

 HEATS AND LANE ALLOCATION 

Heats and lanes are allocated strictly according to age groups. There is no requirement for an estimated swim time for the children's event.

PARKING

 There is ample parking in the public car park outside the Pool and surrounding area. Overflow car parks next to the church and  at Castle Shopping Arcade near to the local filling station.

FACILITIES 

Changing and shower facilities are available free to competitors in the swimming pool.

Local media services will be in attendance in order to take photographs of this event and its participants. Please can you advise the organiser if you have any objections to photographs being taken.
