After the successful launch of my guide book; Dartmoor Trail and Fell Running, I have been asked to guide a few of the routes within for those less confident in finding the route, and I am happy to do so.

The Hobbit Half Marathon route concentrates on the wooded valleys of the eastern side of the moor, and some of its quaint villages nestled within.

The 13miles involves a lot of up and down, but is all runnable and trail shoes are sufficient.

The route heads south to Hound Tor, then East to Becky Falls  and the river Bovey. It then turns north west to Lustleigh and Hunters Tor, before reurning via the river Bovey back to Manaton.
