Organiser's Description
For the last couple of years, we have used Webscorer for the series results and majority of race results for the Dartmoor Fell Series. I've also used it to time various other events, some running, some cycling, some multi-sport.
However, we need to increase the size of the "timer pool" for the Dartmoor Fell Series (other timing opportunities also available).
This course focuses on how to time a running race, on a single device, using Webscorer. It includes-
- Why use Webscorer?
- Difference between the most common electronic timing systems
- Start list creation
- Setting up a race on Webscorer
- What makes a good finish line?
- Timing a race
- What to do if you click the wrong button
- What to do if everything goes wrong
- Backup systems
- Results processing
It will include the chance to time a demo race.
This course is aimed particuarly at fell races, but is applicable to many other running events. For cycling events that require laps, for example cross country, if there is enough interest I'm happy to run a CrossMgr course later.
Tea and coffee will also be provided. Cost is to cover use of the hall.
