Organiser's Description

Welcome to the next edition of our guided runs

This month we will make our way to the west side of the moor and visit Tavy Cleave via a firing range and return via a few Tors.

This 10 mile (approx) route will start in a free carpark up a track to the left and behind the Dartmoor Inn, Lydford. Don't confuse with the other Dartmoor inn at Merrivale!!

The turning is opposite the little Lydford deli on the main A386.

The route follows mainly faint trods/tracks and some open moorland so is more of a fell run than trail.
We will head over the Willsworthy firing range and head down to Lane end before going up the Tavy valley and into the cleave. We then climb up to the tors above, and after ticking off a few tops we return via Brat Tor to the car park.

The route is undulating and tough in places but the pace will be very gentle.

Trail shoes are a must!!!

Those wanting a lift share can meet me in Tavistock Beford square at 0815, I have 8 seats available

The car park is free
