Welcome to Basildon Aquathlon 2025

This event is multisport event comprising of a swim section followed immediately by a running section.

Distances for each discipline are dependent on the age of the competitor entered.

The children's event (Tristar) will begin at approximately 1.00 pm.

The adult and youth event will begin at approximately 2.00 pm.

Basildon Aquathlon (Adult & Youth) 2025

Welcome to the sign-up page for Basildon Aquathlon 2025 hosted by East Essex Triathlon Club.  

 

The aquathlon consists of a 400m swim followed by a 5km flat run around Gloucester Park mainly on the tarmac path but with some sections on grass.

 

Depending on the weather in the lead-up to the event, it could be muddy in some sections of the course.

 

The race is open to beginners as well as experienced competitors who will be at least 15 years old on 31st December 2025.

Please be as accurate as possible with your estimated swim time to ensure a clear swim for yourself and others.

 

If you find in training that you are swimming significantly quicker or slower than your estimated time (e.g., by more or less than 10 seconds) or If any of your personal details  needs to change before the closure date of 16th March, 2025, then please either log into your Entry Central account (if you are an account holder), or contact the event organiser at: aquathlon@east-essex-tri-club.co.uk

 

The time you give should be for 400m.

 

Entry fee: £35 but £30 if you eneter on or before the 28th February, 2025.

 

Withdrawals will be accepted up to 14 days prior to the event with the entry fee refunded minus a £5 admin charge.

Competitors are politely reminded that it is a direct infringement of British Triathlon competition rules to use any device to mark their position in transition. This includes excessive application of Talcum Powder in and around the competitors transition area. This and any other device or marker will be removed by the duty official where possible.

If this is not possible a statutory 2 minute penalty will be applied.

A short trophy presentation will take place once all the competitors have finished the race and we have been able to compile the provisional results. Trophies will be forwarded on if you are unable to stay for the prize giving. Whilst we will award the trophies after the race, there may be challenges to those results which we will investigate before finalising the results, on this website, within 7 days. 

 

Provisinal Results will be available online later the same day.

 

Only people who are female sex at birth are eligible to compete in the Female category. All other individuals including transgender people are eligible to compete in the Open category. Responses to this question will enable event organisers to allocate competitors into the correct race category as required under the British Triathlon Transgender Policy effective 1 January 2023. This policy can be read here and provides more information regarding race categories and eligibility.

Welcome to the sign-up page for the 2025 Basildon Tristar (Children's) Aquathlon, hosted by East Essex Triathlon Club.

 

This aquathlon consists of a pool swim followed by a run (distances according to age as indicated in the table below).  

 

The race is open to beginners as well as experienced competitors.

Prices

For each sign-up, the organiser pays the Service Fee of 4% (min 50p). You pay no surcharge

A British Triathlon Race Pass is required for participants who are not a British Triathlon Home Nation member. For this event, Race Pass costs are £2.00 (plus £0.08 service charge) for participants aged 24 and under, and £8.00 (plus £0.32 service charge) otherwise.
