The race starts at 10:00.

The Fetteresso Forest Marathon will be run over a route made up entirely of forest tracks.

The Feteresso Forest Marathon is run in accordance with the Rules and Regulations of Scotish Hill Runners.

You MUST ensure that you are carrying minimum SHR kit for the entirity of the race. No kit, no race; expect a kit check. Full kit includes:

This race is cupless, meaning that whilst we will provide water at the water station, we will not be giving out plastic cups to reduce our waste. Our marshalls will be happy to fill your own bottles or cups with water during the race.

The race director reserves the right to enforce time cut offs at any point along the route which may lead to runners being asked to skip certain sections of the course. This is done to ensure the wellbeing of our volunteer marshals. You will still be welcome to all the benefits at the finish.

The 2025 race's planned cut offs will be the same as the 2019, 2020, 2023 , and 2024 races. These cut offs are to look after you, and to stop our marshals freezing in the forest. The cut off is at mile 12.3 / km 19.8. If you do not reach this point in 2 hours and 20 minutes, you will be diverted to a shorter route. Please respect the marshals if you are cut off and follow their instructions. If you are cut off, you still get to run, but you will miss off the eastern most 5.15 miles / 8.3 km and the 1.56 miles / 2.5 km along the out-and-back section of the race. You will still get to run 19.7 miles / 31.7 km, and be allowed access to everything at the end (including a medal). Please be polite to the marshals; if you have an issue with the cut offs, take it up with the race director.

Runners taking part in the race must be 18 years old or older on the day of the race.

The course is unsuitable for standard wheelchairs.

Running with buggies or pets is not permitted.

No changing facilities or showers are available at the start or finish of this race.

There wil be toilets in the start/finish area.

We reserve the right to modify the route due to restrictions along the course (i.e. extensive fallen trees along the course) if necessary.
