Race details:

The start and finish are located at Westley Heights Country Park at the rear of the Miller & Carter (Crown) Public House, Langdon Hills.  Limited parking is available: please DO NOT park in the Miller & Carter Pub car park. Please also allow plenty of time to park (this may involve a short 10 minute walk if the main car park is full) and allow plenty of time to collect your number (we will be starting the race promptly at 11:00am).

Note: The toilets are currently out of service and we do not expect them to be open for this event (we do have a key for the disabled toilets).

The route will have marshals for safety and to ensure you follow the route we also have a tail runner to ensure we don’t lose anyone. Please listen and adhere to any instructions from the volunteers and marshals, they are there for your safety.

First aid will be on the course and at the finish, a defib is also at the finish. Water will be available at the finish along with some sweets during registration.

All standards welcome, but due to TRA and England Athletics maximum distance requirements for children, no children under the age of 12 are permitted to run.

The Crown to Crown is a measured 5k route - mainly on bridleways, the start is on Beeleigh Avenue and the route takes runners onto Lee Chapel Lane and into the Essex Wildlife Trusts Willow Park. A loop round the reserve, back to Lee Chapel Lane and then to the finish at the Westley Heights Car Park.

Spikes are not suitable due to sections of tarmac.

Held under UK Athletics rules: TRA Permit No. 6138 and will be available on the day.

Race cancellation policy:

If for any reason such as, but not limited to adverse weather, course conditions, Government or landowner advice that we must cancel the race, we will offer either a transfer to our next race in 2024 or offer a refund (minus any card processing fees that are outside our control).
