King's Aquathlon 2023

Aberdeen University Triathlon Club welcome you to the King's Aquathlon 2023. A swim in Aberdeen Sports Village followed by a run along the scenic Aberdeen's beachfront. 

The King's Aquathlon offers you the choice of two races to take part in (as stated below).

Please ensure that you pick the appropriate category when entering.

When entering we will also ask for your 400m swim time. It is vital that your swim time is as accurate as possible.

Fees

Adults: £25

Students and 15-18 years old: £22

This does not include the administration fee paid towards EntryCentral.

PLEASE NOTE: This race is for 15 years old and over only. 

Race Details

• The King's Aquathlon swim will be held in the 50m pool of the Aberdeen Sports Village using a snake style formation, followed by the run along the beachfront. The run will finish with a lap of the track of Aberdeens Sports Village. 
• This event will be chip-timed by Thistle Timings.
• Registration will be held in the Aquatics Studio of Aberdeens Sports Village.
• Race briefing will be TBC.
• Prizes TBC.
• New to 2023! We will be offering winning prizes for first time aquathlon participants!
• Please note that the event permit is currently in the proccess of being finalised.

Timings are to be confirmed. 

We ask all participants to arrive onto poolside 15 minutes before your race start time. 

Refreshments

Bananas and Tunnocks will be available after the race. Please note that due to King's Aquathlon 2024 being plastic-free, there will be no bottled water distributed at the finish line. Participants thus are encouraged to bring their own reusable bottles of water as a refreshment after the race. Water fountains are also available in the Aberdeen Sports Village. 

Equipment Storage

You will be able to store your equipment in the registration room. Alternatively, the lockers at the swimming pool changing room will accommodate your belongings while you race. Please bring a £1 coin in order to operate the lockers, or alternatively, you can store your equipment in your car, if you are using one. Free car parking is available on ASV premises.

Refund Policy

At the organiser's discretion, 100% refunds (excluding the EntryCentral administration fee and minus any credit card processing fees) will be issued to any competitor who withdraws from the event more than 5 days before the event. No refunds will be issued for withdrawals after the event closing date.

GDPR

Your personal data will be securely stored on the club's password-protected Entry Central and Google Drive accounts with only the committee members of Aberdeen University Triathlon Club being able to access them. Your data will be used for communication and event organising purposes and will be deleted from every platform by the end of the current university academic year (June 2025) at the latest.
