KIRKCALDY PARKS RUNNING FESTIVAL 2024
HALF MARATHON (Sponsored by Insure Smart)
TIME TO LACE UP AND GET ON IT AGAIN FOR 2024!!!
Come and join us once again for Fife’s only half marathon!
Set in the historical town of Kirkcaldy, affectionately known as the ‘Lang Toun’, made famous by Michael Nairn producing linoleum and also the birthplace of Adam Smith, social philosopher and economist. This half takes in some of the town’s famous landmarks including Beveridge Park, Dunnikier Park, Ravenscraig Park, beautiful coastal path with stunning sea views and historical Dysart.
The final few miles also take in the newly refurbished Waterfront where there is a flat measured mile used for the local running clubs and walkers to enjoy.
Also included in the route are free hills; fast flats and downhills for that elusive PB search……
The race is run under UK Athletics Rules and is a Scottish Athletics permit event, minimum age on the day is 17.
Start
The race starts at 10am within Beveridge Park, Kirkcaldy on Sunday 25th August. There will be no parking available at the park, however there are car parks and bus and train links nearby, so please leave plenty of time to arrive for the race start. Parking information will be shared soon.
There will be something for all the family so even if you’re not running, we hope you’ll spend the afternoon in our Event Village in the park, enjoying the attractions, grabbing a bite to eat and cheering for your runners as they cross the finish line. (And lookout for the fabulously popular Fun Run as well)

Health and Safety
A Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (TTRO) has been applied for as the race will be run on a number of closed roads managed by Traffic Management specialists and volunteer marshals.
Safety of the runners and the public is paramount and as the race is also run on open roads, runners must adhere to marshal instructions at all times and run on footpaths when necessary.
There will be a time limit of 3 hours for the race (approx 13 minutes 45 seconds per mile). Any runner who expects to take longer than this, does so at their own risk, as any organised road closures will no longer be in place.
As you should know, we are a non-profit organisation and one of our key aims is to make the running festival as inclusive as possible.
This relates to a lot of aspects of course but financial inclusivity is one of them.
Our key sponsors wholeheartedly agree on this, and their generous contributions help to cover as much of the costs as possible, keeping the entry fee as low as we can.
Important Note:
Maggie’s provide free emotional, psychological, and social support to those with cancer, and their loved ones. Their centre here in Kirkcaldy welcomes visitors from across Fife, with no need for referral or appointment.
On average, it costs £2,400 per day to run this incredible service and we hope to help by raising funds and awareness to support the vital work that they do.
Should you wish to use your space to help raise funds you can do so by setting up your Just Giving page.
Kirkcaldy Parks Running Festival is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SC051403)
Proud to support our official charity partner, Maggie's Fife
