Quite simply, run at least 1 mile each day throughout March in addition to your usual routine.  If you need to substitute the one mile run for another exercise, anything is allowed, as long as it takes you a similar amount of time it would to run a mile (15-20 mins).

The cost is £15 this year with £5 going to the very kind Trevor Pictor of White Horse pottery (Huge subsidy) for the personalised mug, a small amount going to entry central (50p) to help us with the registrations. and the rest goes to the charity (£9.50 per entry minimum); this year the charity is...

Wiltshire Air Ambulance

Charity suggested by MMM veteran Sandra Sharratt whose husband, Aidan, was in an accident and was saved by Wiltshire Air Ambulance.

Living on the outskirts of Melksham we have regularly seen the Wiltshire Air Ambulance leaving it’s base flying to an emergency and saving lives. I never imagined that they would ever be needed for one of my loved ones.
On the 18th of August my husband, Aidan, was heading out with his cycling club for a 200k ride. An hour into the ride he hit an uneven road surface and was thrown off his bike. He doesn’t remember anything of the fall or the following 2 weeks.
His fellow riders called 999 and an ambulance attended the scene. However, due to his range of injuries – including fractured skull, clavicle, 5 ribs and hip – they felt rapid transport to hospital was needed, so Wiltshire Air Ambulance was called. They arrived and rapidly transported him to Southmead Hospital in Bristol. While on the helicopter, Aidan was sedated and ventilated. He received the emergency care he really needed as the Air Ambulance crew includes a critical care doctor. Aidan spent 4 days in ICU, and a total of 4 weeks in hospital. Aidan is well on the way to recovery.
We are so thankful to all the medical services that took care of Aidan. However, in an emergency every second counts and it was the Air Ambulance and it’s crew that provided Aidan with the emergency help he needed. In 2023, Wiltshire Air Ambulance attended 1,167 callouts in Wiltshire, Bath and the surrounding areas saving lives.
Wiltshire Air Ambulance receives no regular direct funding from the Government or National Lottery grants, so relies on the generous donations from the public and local businesses to raise the vital funds needed. It costs £4.5 million a year to keep the lifesaving service operational, which equates to more than £12,000 per day.

If you wish, In addition to the entry fee, there are two other ways of donating EXTRA money:-

  1. Choose "No mug required" on entry form.
