Right in the heart of the beautiful market town of Shrewsbury, you will be joining hundreds of other runners setting off from The Quarry over the Severn Bridges and back on this iconic 10k race.

Where: The Quarry Park, Shrewsbury SY1 1JA

When: 7th September, 2025

When-when: 10:00 AM race start

Distance: 10k

Cut-off time: 12:30 PM

Prizes:

Medal for all runners
Winners prizes - first overall (M/F), first junior (M/F) plus age categories
Any runner may receive one of the many spot prizes donated by our sponsors

Prize policy: the most prestigious prize is awarded where an individual might otherwise qualify for more than one

Race souvenir: Medal for all runners

Water station: Water station on the course at 6km, water at the finish

Bag drop: there will be a bag drop area

Changing: there are no changing or showering facilities. Please arrive ready to run

No entries on the day

Course

The race starts and ends in the Quarry Park in the centre of Shrewsbury, a beautiful riverside location. Runners will run a loop in the park and then make their way out along the banks of the River Severn,before turning around and crossing the various bridges on the return route to the finish in the Quarry.

About

The Severn Bridges was first put on in 2009 by Shropshire Council with the key goal of encouraging people who might not think of themselves as runners to try a 10km.When the Council decided to stop running the event after Covid they asked the Shropshire Shufflers to take over.We leapt at the chance as our ethos is to be a welcoming and inclusive club to everyone interested in running at whatever pace, so race fits in with that nicely.It isn’t a race for PB’s unless it’s your first…congratulations! It’s a race where you can enjoy the River Severn and the Quarry, have fun and be in with a chance to win a spot prize - anyone can be a winner!

Postponement: In the unlikely event of postponement all entries will be rolled over to re-scheduled date, with a refund given instead on request.
