The General Sosabowski Virtual Race

Join us for a virtual race to follow in the footsteps of the soldiers of General Stanislaw Sosabowski, who trained in Fife, Scotland prior to Operation Market Garden and other battles of the Second World War.

The story of General Sosabowski and the 1st Independent Parachute Brigade is closely connected with Fife and is an excellent example of the joint operations of Polish and British armed forces during World War II.

At the end of 1940, Colonel Stanisław Franciszek Sosabowski created a special Polish military unit, 4th Cadre Rifle Brigade in Fife, which was transformed into the 1st Independent Parachute Brigade on 9th October 1941, by the order of the Commander-in-Chief of the Polish Armed Forces, General Władysław Sikorski. The brigade trained in Fife before their operations on the continent. To this day there are many visible signs of their presence in Scotland.

What you need to do - Run or walk a total of 7 Kilometres or more in your own time and in any location. We ask that you complete this Virtual Event before 1st January 2025.

Submit your proof  - Once you have completed your 7 Kilometres you just need to send us your proof and we will post your General Sosabowski Medal. Details on how to submit your proof will be on the entry confirmation email that you will receive from EntryCentral.
