Organiser's Description

What’s not to love about this event?! The race director has thought of everything. The obstacles are great. Some really innovative challenges to have a go at and great use of the terrain which has its own natural obstacles.

If you want to up your game, you can enter one of the ‘competitive’ races (3k or 8k), or choose to go around at a more comfortable pace doing the 5k, either in your own company (never for long!) enjoying meeting all the friendly volunteer marshals or with a group of friends or an obliging colleague or family member!
Don’t think about doing it. DO IT! There’s a food truck and coffee truck at the finish, AND a medal!

Getting to and arrival at the venue

Use what3words: vets.played.reduce

OR address is Wheatrig Farm,Kilmaurs, KA3 2NG.

Race numbers will be given out on the day, please arrive at least 1 hour before your wave time to allow you to collect your number and warm up before you start. Please be on the start 10mins before your start time as we want to make sure you are warmed up and ready to go.

We will have a one way system in operation

Please come via the village of Kilmaurs and approach the venue from this side (most routes will naturally bring you through Kilmaurs anyway). Once you drive through the village and are about to exit the 30 mph zone you will see a Tartan Warrior sign post telling you to turn left along Standalane. Drive for three quarters of a mile along that road and you will see the farm road on your left.

Exiting the venue

The farm road is single track so please do not drive back down it otherwise you could cause a traffic jam.

Instead you will be signposted down a different farm road running parallel to the road you came up. At the bottom you will be directed left to take a slightly longer loop back to Kilmaurs. Please do not turn right as you could cause a traffic jam.

We ask all drivers to drive slowly along the nearby country roads as there could be dog walkers, horses or children walking on them

Car Parking/Charity/Key Drop

For car parking we would appreciate a small donation (recommended £5) for Stewarton Annick Boys Club who will be helping with the parking

We will have designated hard surface car parking available for up to maximum of 80 cars and a small amount of field space.

With this in mind please car share as much as possible.

The parking will be very close to the start/finish line so you can leave bags in the car.

There won't be a bag drop but there will be a key drop

Facilities

Toilet facilities are available on site in the form of portaloos. There will be no showers available so please bring a towel and change of clothes and be prepared to change at your vehicles. Food and Refreshments will also be available on site.

By entering, you agree to the following conditions

1.     All participants must wear appropriate clothing and footwear (strictly no football boots or spikes). It is also important to bring a change of clothing and footwear for after the event as you do get wet and muddy. There are no shower facilities.

2.     Participants take part at entirely their own risk and the organisers will not be liable for any injury before, during or after the event.

3.     Participants under the age of 16 cannot enter without parent/guardian's permission.

4.     Entry Fees are non-refundable and cannot be transferred to another race date.

5.     There will be a £5 fee for entry transfers to another person.

6.     By entering, participants declare that they are physically fit and have sufficiently trained for this event and waive and renounce any rights and claims for damages they may have against Tartan Warrior (trading as OCR Ayrshire Ltd).

7.     Children under the age of 10 should be accompanied by a participating adult when running. 1 participating adult can accompany up to a maximum of 3 children under 10.

8.     Adverse weather conditions on the day may cause the race to be rescheduled.

9.     Photographs and filming will be done at this event and by entering you consent to this and their use by Tartan Warrior and their partners.

*Tartan Warrior will only share your details with British Obstacle Sports for the purposes of automatic team selection and will not pass on to any third party.
