Welcome to West Edinburgh Running Club

West Edinburgh Running Club, a Scottish Athletics affiliated club, is a safe and welcoming place for passionate runners of all abilities. Our core session takes place every Thursday night - 6.30pm - meeting at the Winter Gardens car park in Saughton Park. Every week your fully qualified coaching team will prepare 'enjoyably tough' running sessions designed to improve your running ability, your physical fitness, and your mental health!

Membership Benefits

Membership is now open for the 2025/2026 season. As a member you are entitled to:

• Join our club training sessions on a Thursday evening.
• Join our weekly Early Risers Club session.
• Participate in any ad-hoc training sessions or social runs organised by the club.
• Compete at running events as a member of 'West Edinburgh Running Club'.
• Wear the club kit at races.
• Compete in our intraclub championship competition*
• Receive membership benefits such as discounts at online and physical retail stores.

Membership Types

The club year runs from 1st April 2025 until 31st March 2026 and we have 3 membership types:

• Standard - £25.00
• Concession - £12.50
  • Students, over 65's, low-income workers, those out of work
  • This also becomes our standard membership fee from 1st November
• Free - £0.00
  • On request for those who genuinely need it - please email info@werunclub.co.uk for this option

All membership types entitle you to the full range of club benefits. 

All "officials" within the club, whether coaches, committee members or those in non-committee roles are volunteers. All club income is re-invested in improving your club experience.

Please note you must be 18 years of age or over to become a member of West Edinburgh Running Club.
