All-important race details

Venue: Syston Rugby Club, Barkby Road, Queniborough, Leicestershire LE7 3FE

Start: 10:30am

Distance: 8 miles, marked in miles

Race: Chip timed race, minimum age of 16. 

Entry: £13 per club runner (discount applied during the booking process)/£15 unattached. Please note that, for the first week, entries are open to LRRL club runners only. From 27th April 2025, any remaining places will be opened up to non-LRRL club and unattached runners.

Toilets/Changing: Available at the club house, plus additional portaloos

Parking: Space is limited, so please car share.

You will not be able to leave the Rugby Club car park before the last runner has finished. We have arranged alternative parking for those who wish to leave early. Further details on car parking will be in the participant email. 

Please do not park on Barkby Road or Queniborough Road/Main Street as this will impede the race route. Temporary no parking restrictions will be in place and will be enforced.

Please note that this year's race will take place almost entirely on closed roads.

Number collection: At the registration desks. Numbers will be arranged by club, or surname if unattached.

Refreshments: The club bar should be open for soft/alcoholic drinks. Teas, coffees and cake stall will be on sale by West End Runners.

Safety: It is the responsibility of the runner to assess his/her own fitness to run. Also to ensure suitable clothing is worn for the weather conditions. All runners must keep to the left hand side of the road throughout the race unless directed otherwise by marshals.

Drinks stations: Two drink stations will be situated along the route. Water will also be provided at the end of the race for all runners.

Property: All property left unattended in club tents or at the rugby club is at the owner’s risk. Bag storage for unattached runners will be available at the registration desk.

Bad weather: Clubs are encouraged to bring tents as there won't be sufficient shelter for all runners inside the rugby club.

Dogs: Not permitted on the Rugby Club grounds, by order of the owners – please don’t be offended when we ask you to take your dog out of the Rugby Club grounds.

Headphones: These are strictly prohibited and it is a condition of the race entry that they are not used. This includes bone conduction headphones. This is a safety precaution imposed for the sake of all competitors. Please comply with this instruction or risk disqualification. This will be enforced by the race referee.

Name changes: Can be made through the Entry Central system – details on how to do this will be included in the confirmation email. Pre-race changes can be made up to 23:59 on Tuesday 27th May. After this deadline, any changes will need to be made on the day at race registration.

Refunds and deferrals: Not permitted but name changes are allowed.
